چکیده

Abstract Assessment of indoor environmental quality has recently moved to a combined methodology both measurements and questionnaire surveys. In this study, we have used data from the national survey Swedish housing stock, BETSI, conducted in 2007/2008, during heating season. The study included, among others, measurement selected air pollutants an extensive on occupants’ perception their dwellings. Measured concentrations NO 2 , TVOCs formaldehyde were aggregated into one Indoor Air Pollution Index (IAPI) continuous scale between 0 (excellent Quality; IAQ) 10 (poor IAQ). perceived IAQ was assessed by occupants 5-point category very good poor. On entire IAPIs, 92% respondents single-family houses as or 8% acceptable, while apartments, ratings ‘very good’ ‘good’ accounted for 58%, acceptable 33% 9 % ‘poor’ poor’, respectively. building types, tendency IAPIs shifted lower values (good Analysis IAPI-medians showed no statistically significant differences ratings.

Indoor Air Quality of Office Buildings in the Helsinki Area

Indoor air quality (IAQ) was investigated in 19 open-plan offices and 30 office rooms in order to compare the differences in these two different types of office environments. No moisture or mold problems had been reported from the present buildings, but the employees had complained about the IAQ. The results revealed only slight differences in the IAQ of the two different types of office enviro...

Classification of dwellings into profiles regarding indoor air quality, and identification of indoor air pollution determinant factors

This study aims to identify the most relevant variables, among outdoor measures, building characteristics and socioeconomic situation, for predicting indoor air chemical pollution in dwellings. To achieve this, we propose a two-step plan: first, group the dwellings into classes according to the indoor measured concentrations, then use regression tools to express a dwelling’s class as a function...

Humidification and perceived indoor air quality in the office environment.

OBJECTIVE To evaluate the effect of humidification on the odour, acceptability, and stuffiness of indoor air. METHODS In a six period cross over trial at the Pasila Office Center, Helsinki, the air of two wings of the building in turn were ventilated with air of 30%-40% humidity. A third wing served as a non-humidified control area. The quality of indoor air was assessed weekly by a panel con...

Supply and Demand of Indoor Air Qualities in Dwellings

Indoor air quality (IAQ) influences the health of humans, the young and the old being generally more susceptible. In this study we examined how supply and demand of indoor air quality in dwellings are matched. On the supply-side, we evaluated ventilation systems, including natural ventilation, balanced ventilation, and adaptive systems. Two major healthrelated aspects are flexibility (both a se...

Indoor Air Quality

The issues of indoor air quality are complex and can be directly influenced by a number of system and building parameters. There are no universal solutions for every problem since there are numerous potential contaminant sources. They may originate from indoors and have a direct impact on indoor environmental quality, or they may originate from outdoors and be transferred by a mechanical or nat...
